The Geolandar G105 is an all-terrain tyre by Yokohama which is one of the most popular tyres out there in the market right now. In a bid to promote these tyres, Yokohama posted a picture on Instagram with a witty reference to the popular TV series "Paatal Lok."
For those of you who don't know, "Patal Lok" is a trending web series on Amazon Prime Video which is about a cop who ends up solving a cold murder case of a journalist.
The post by Yokohama shows three roads that are named as "Swarg Lok" (Heaven), "Dharti Lok" (Earth) and "Paatal Lok" (Hell) with "Swarg Lok" being the best road and "Paatal Lok" being the worst. This idea of the three "Loks" is based on a popular concept within the TV show Paatal Lok.
Yokohama captioned the post saying " With Geolandar, every road will feel like Swarg Lok." A clever caption and image through which the company basically wishes to convey that the Geolandar A/ T G105 is so good, it makes even the worst of roads (that look like they are straight out of hell) feel like smooth asphalt (Like the roads heaven would have). The tyre does such a great job at absorbing shocks that you are simply unaware of the "hell" you are driving on.

In fact, it's not just the riding comfort, the tyres have also been designed to provide optimum traction on almost every surface you can think of. Be it on the road, off the road, snow, water, you name it! It's capable of handling it all.
Well, how does it do all that? The answer lies in the construction of the tyre:
- New aggressive tread pattern: Features a new tread pattern that provides improved traction while off-roading as well as in snow and wet conditions.
- 4- deep main grooves: The four wide straight grooves enhance the drainage performance and provide exceptional manoeuvrability and has exceptional capabilities to give maximum grip on wet surface.
- Optimized lug groove: The lug groove gets narrower as they approach the center section and gradually wider as they approach the grounded edge of the shoulder which indeed gives maximum traction.
- 3D shaped sipes: The tyre has 3D structured sipes. The sipes are shaped into a three-tier pyramid which suppresses the breakdown of the tread block. It contributes to the exceptional stiffness on dry surfaces and also good grip on wet surfaces.
- Aggressive shoulder: The design of the shoulder of the tyre has also been overhauled. In addition, the new design looks aggressive and improves the tyre's follow up durability.
Tyre manufacturers especially Yokohama are trying to keep people sane, calm and entertained during these tough times caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and their latest post definitely did the trick.
