Hankook Tyre America Corporation has been given the 'supplier of the year' award from GM for its performance during the calendar year of 2019. Hankook is one of the 116 suppliers who has been recently honored by General motors automobile manufacturing company.
Shilpan Amin, GM -VP of global purchasing and supply chain stated that the suppliers of the company plays a key role in delivering the products and services. Also, the suppliers focus on enhancing the customer experience .
He further added that the company also believes that it is important at this juncture to thank the entire suppliers sector for their efforts in the last few months to overcome the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. They have not only started working safely to conduct the manufacturing operations but also they have played a major role in assisting the company's focus to increase the supply of ventilators and personal protection equipment for health care workers who stand in front for keeping different communities safe from the COVID-19 outbreak.

The award winners of the "Supplier Of The Year" were chosen by an American team of General Motor's quality, engineering, manufacturing and logistics executives. The winners were selected considering their performance in product purchasing, manufacturing services, global purchasing, customer care and after sales and logistics.
Hyunjun Cho, head of Hankook's OE division stated that the company is proud and honored to be recognized by GM for its hard work and performance.
He further added,“We are grateful to have the opportunity to build top-quality, innovative tyres for GM products and look forward to a longstanding relationship together.”
