The EcoVadis, a sustainability rating agency has presented tyre manufacturer Hankook with the highest honor for its common reporting standard initiatives in sustainability.
EcoVadis which is known for offering the most reliable sustainability rating in the whole world has presented Hankook with the a medal for taking initiative and effort in its social responsibility. Interestingly, the medal is only presented to companies that are in the top 1 percent of their industry sector.
EcoVadis is an international institute which is based in France. It offers ratings in the field of social responsibility which are divided into four areas of interest: environment, ethics and sustainable procurement and finally labor and human rights.

The institute considers for assessment around 6,500 companies from 160 different countries around the globe. It enjoys the great trust that exists among the European car manufacturers. The medals comes in platinum, gold, silver and bronze which are awaited by the companies to grasp on.
The platinum medal was awarded to Hankook tyre manufacturing company for its effort and initiative in taking up CSR objectives and also for its participation in sustainability activities and CSR related policies. The main focus of the company is to utilize 100 percent sustainable materials for its manufacturing industry and 50 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The company is also known for its participation in the sustainable initiatives with the United Nations Global Compact and also for considering policies related to CSR such as the Sustainable Natural Rubber Policy.
