In a test of ten brands, Goodyear received the highest grade in the German magazine Auto Bild allrad winter tyre test, with an 'exemplary' rating.
The test, which was published in Auto Bild allrad on October 7th (issue 11-2021), compared the brands in 14 separate tests ranging from traction to cornering grip and braking distances in snow, wet, and dry conditions. The 235/55R18 size was used in the testing on a Volkswagen Tiguan. In wet handling, the Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ SUV is the best tyre. The adaptability of the current Goodyear was demonstrated by this rainy weather performance, which was complemented with a strong performance in the snow.
Auto Bild allrad praised the capabilities of the Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ SUV. "It is a new winter tyre with the best driving characteristics on snowy and wet slopes, precise turn-in behaviour, dynamic wet handling and short wet braking distances."

Laurent Colantonio, Regional Technology Director EMEA, Goodyear: "The UltraGrip Performance+ SUV takes our innovative package of winter technologies and tailors them for the needs of the SUV market. We are delighted that Auto Bild allrad has recognised the performance, rating it as exemplary."
With the introduction of the UltraGrip Performance+ SUV, Goodyear increased economy by 13% and improved performance in all winter situations. Mileage Plus Technology gives the tyre a lot of suppleness in the tread. As a result, wear resistance, durability, and mileage are improved.
A new compound has been added to Goodyear's Winter Grip Technology. This increases rubber flexibility at low temperatures, resulting in better grip in cold weather. Thanks to an improved resin, this, in combination with Traction Protect Technology, helps minimise braking distances.
