The Lotus Emira is the latest in a long line of magnificent mid-engined automobiles from the renowned British sports car maker. The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport has been chosen as the original equipment tyre for the new Lotus Emira.
The Emira has been designed to provide Lotus drivers with the precise and unvarnished driver feedback they expect. It's constructed on a new lightweight bonded aluminium chassis, a Lotus-developed technology that's still ingrained in the company's sports car DNA. Lotus chose Goodyear to build a tyre that met highly precise requirements in order to maintain the company's famed emphasis on riding, handling, and agility.
Goodyear's latest UUHP (ultra-ultra high performance) tyre is the Eagle F1 SuperSport. It has a one-of-a-kind design with a Powerline cover that helps it keep its form and maximise its footprint. This provides the necessary high-speed stability for this type of sports automobile. This, combined with DualPlus Technology, a unique U-shaped compound mix, creates defined tread zones for exceptional wet and dry performance.
The Eagle F1 SuperSport was produced exclusively for the Emira in 245/35ZR20 front and 295/30ZR20 rear sizes, with tuning to improve the vehicle's ride, handling, and steering feel. Because of the Emira project's research and development, the tyre construction is unique to the Lotus Emira, as seen by the LTS marking on the sidewall.

Working with Goodyear on this specially developed tyre has ensured that these targets have been met."

Lotus and Goodyear have rekindled a long and fruitful collaboration with this collaborative development. From the 1970s until the 1990s, Goodyear was the factory-installed tyre on many of the most famous Lotus cars. Goodyear gripped the Elan, Elite, Eclat, and Excel sports automobiles, as well as the Lotus Esprit Turbo, which was immortalised in the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only starring Roger Moore.

This road tyre development coincided with Lotus' racing prowess, with the two companies sharing the top step of the Formula One Grand Prix podium 32 times between 1973 and 1987. Emerson Fittipaldi, Ronnie Peterson, Mario Andretti, Elio De Angelis, Nigel Mansell, and Ayrton Senna are among the legends inducted into the Lotus and Goodyear F1 hall of fame.
Two petrol engines are available for the Emira: a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder and a supercharged 3.5-litre V6, with power outputs ranging from 360 to 400 horsepower. The Lotus Emira is the final internal combustion-engined Lotus before the company transitions to an all-electric future.
