Farmers are our saviours. India is known for its agricultural development and the effort that the farmers put to support the country. We have a story of a farmer named Chapak Tadvi who after a day of hard-work and labour leaves for his home with difficulty.
Chapak Tadvi is a farmer who lives in Dhamasiya village of Chhota Udepur district, India. He waits everyday in the hope that someone would help him reach home. "No, we are not talking about an ordinary farmer waiting for a lift to his home!" Tadvi waits for someone to pull the tyre tube on which he commutes from one side of the river to another. He waits for somebody to pull him across the Ashwin river.
For probably a decade now, a tube of a tractor tyre has been the only source for moving across the river Ashwin for almost 50 farmers to reach their farm lands. Their village is located in the southern bank of the river and their farms are located in the northern bank. The bridge to cross the river is located 15 km away which is why they depend on this tyre tube.

"We had to find a solution since there was a scare crocodiles and not everybody in the village own a bike. Somebody proposed the idea of using a tractor’s tube and since then we have been relying on this tube to cross over," said Vipin Bhil, sarpanch of group gram panchayat of Dhamasiya and Ghodisimel.
"Nobody crosses the river during monsoon as there are possibilities of getting drowned," Bhil added. "I have swum for decades to cross the river and now I am forced to use this tube. Despite making representations to political leaders, nothing has happened so far. Even if we get a small boat, we can cross the river safely," said Tadvi.
