The new Lamborghini Huracán STO, the luxury Italian manufacturer's road-homologated super sports vehicle, has chosen Bridgestone as its exclusive tyre provider. The Lamborghini Huracán STO may now be fitted with special Bridgestone Potenza Race semi-slick tyres in addition to custom-developed Bridgestone Potenza Sport rubber. These custom-made Potenza Race tyres provide a great dry grip for fast lap times, as well as consistent cornering, braking, and handling on and off the track.
True high-performance
Bridgestone Potenza Race tyres were developed specifically for the Lamborghini Huracán STO to increase its remarkable capabilities and allow drivers to enjoy true high performance. The premium Potenza Race semi-slick tyre has been tailor-made for the Lamborghini Huracán STO for the first time, drawing on Bridgestone's vast history in Formula One racing and high-performance vehicles. As a result, the tread is laced with the Italian Tricolore colours - a homage to the fact that both the tyre and the car were designed in Italy – and incorporates Lamborghini's characteristic trademarks.

The Bridgestone Potenza Race tyre promises great dry grip thanks to an optimised tread compound, pattern, and sporty tyre profile that improves grip and handling in dry weather. The tyre also has excellent on-track durability and lap time capability, thanks to its increased contact surface and even pressure distribution, which improves braking and handling. The tyre is designed for both the road and the track, with a carcass shape that allows for great performance on conventional roads.

Bridgestone Potenza Race benefited greatly from the company's groundbreaking virtual tyre modelling and simulation technologies, which allow for the development and testing of a digital twin of a tyre. Bridgestone and Lamborghini used virtual design and simulation to identify the Huracán STO's ideal fit to maximise the tyre's contact surface and uniformly distribute pressure under the most extreme cornering, braking, and traction circumstances.
The introduction of this technology resulted in a shorter tyre development period for the Huracán STO, as well as enhanced flexibility. The virtual environment enables many more variants of a given tyre to be tested, thanks to the extreme speed of modifying the digital twin of the tyre and immediately submitting it to a subjective test on the driving simulator, to ultimately cut the vehicle’s time to market. The use of virtual technologies also ensures that the chosen tyre is the ideal fitment, as many alternatives have been assessed during development, and it helps to deliver various environmental benefits: both natural resource use and exhaust emissions are cut as fewer prototype tyres are required to be built and physical testing is reduced.2
Exclusive tyre supplier
Custom-engineered Bridgestone Potenza Race tyres, developed and manufactured in Europe, are now available as an optional fitment on Lamborghini's Huracán STO. Alternatively, bespoke Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres are available for the Lamborghini Huracán STO to maximise the supercar's amazing performance on the road.
