Bridgestone's new platform is called Bridgestone Tyre and Diversified Products as a solution or simply Bridgestone T&DPaaS.

The first product to be launched under this new platform is the Eco-friendly Turanza Eco Tyre that consists of the Enliten Technology, constructed specially for the Volkswagen ID.3 Electric vehicle which is being produced in Germany.

Bridgestone Global CEO and Representative Executive Officer Shu Ishibashi.

Bridgestone claims that the Enliten technology suits the EV demands. The tyre is 20 percent lighter than a conventional tyre and has 30 percent lesser rolling resistance which is ideal as the car becomes lighter and helps in better battery life.

The tyre is made to suit 18, 19 and 20-inch wheels and has the run-flat technology which further reduces the weight by excluding the need for a spare wheel.

The tyre is truly sustainable as the Enliten technology uses lesser raw materials that is 2 Kg less than what is used for the construction of a conventional tyre.

Mr Ishibashi said: “The introduction of Bridgestone’s ‘Solutions for your journey’ tagline signals our company’s ongoing transformation to the world and communicates our long-term vision to be a sustainable solutions company.”

“We consider this moment to be a ‘Third Foundation (Bridgestone 3.0)’ in our company’s history, with the ‘Original Foundation (Bridgestone 1.0)’ being in 1931 when Bridgestone was established in Tokyo.
