Apollo Tyres Ltd the world's largest tyre company, has produced its first natural rubber policy paper, which is completely compliant with the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber policy framework GPSNR.
The Apollo Sustainable Natural Rubber (ASNR) policy, which is a supplement to the Apollo Partnership Pact (APP), has achieved greater clarity on the eight policy components of legal compliance, healthy functioning ecosystems, respecting human rights, community livelihoods, increased production efficiency, supply chain assessment and traceability, monitoring and reporting, and driving effective implementation.
With the involvement of all stakeholders, the ASNR policy has developed a solid framework for navigating a company's business activities while balancing the environmental, social, and human rights components of the natural rubber supply chain. Apollo Tyres will be able to commit to developing a sustainable natural rubber supply chain by implementing this policy, as well as the implementation advice and baseline reporting criteria.

In its newly revealed 5-year vision of ‘Driving Progress, Together,' Apollo Tyres has recognised sustainability as one of the company's main pillars, with a goal of becoming carbon neutral in the future.
GPSNR was developed by the Tyre Industry Project (TIP) of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), which included natural rubber growers, dealers, and processors, tyre manufacturers, other rubber product makers, automobile manufacturers, and civil service organisations.
