Nexen Tire, a leading worldwide tyre manufacturer, has been chosen as the original equipment supplier for Kia's first electric vehicle, the EV6.
The EV6, Kia's first electric vehicle model based on Hyundai Motor Group's Electric Global Modular Platform, will be equipped with Nexen Tire's ROADIAN GTX EV and N'FERA Sport EVs (E-GMP). The EV6 has a range of about 475 kilometres on a single charge. The automobile can charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes when using the State of Charge (SOC) mode for ultra-fast charging.
The ROADIAN GTX EV, in size 235/55R19 101H, is a premium all-season tyre that meets all of the safety, durability, and low-noise standards of an electric vehicle. The 235/55R19 105V XL N'FERA Sport EV tyre increases high-speed stability and handling while providing maximum grip and braking power on both wet and dry surfaces.
The two electric car tyres were built and adjusted to provide improved abrasion resistance as well as reduce tyre road noise by around 5dB when compared to existing goods by using a noise reduction system.

Nexen Tire has already begun delivering original equipment (OE) for Kia's Soul EV and Canoo, a US electric vehicle startup, giving it a firm presence in the worldwide electric vehicle market. The company plans to expand its global footprint by focusing on research and development as well as transportation initiatives.
