Mickey Thompson's The Baja Boss A/T Wins The SEMA Award

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) and SEMA have come together this year- 2020 to present a tyre exhibition and conference that serves the unique purpose of assisting tyre dealers and the tyre business community. The event targets all segments of tyres in the industry, including light-duty, medium-duty, heavy-duty, re-treading, recycling and more.

SEMA's Tyre Expo has been short on exhibitors due to the effect of the pandemic. However, there are new products this year. This year's undisputed crowd-pleaser, Mickey Thompson, has managed to impress the entire global tyre industry sector.

The company has received the biggest honour from SEMA for presenting its best tyres. The best new product award goes to their new hybrid all-terrain tyre, the Baja Boss A/T.

The Baja Boss A/T tyre comes in a variety of sizes to fit 16-, 17-, 18-, 20-, 22- and 24-inch wheels. It's a great-looking tyre with an aggressive appearance which provides smooth performance.

"The unique, asymmetric tread design is optimized for reduced noise, excellent wet and snow performance with superior on-road handling and off-road traction," the company said in announcing the tire.

Mickey Thompson's vice president of marketing Ken Warner said the tyre features PowerPly XD construction (with 50 percent heavier denier cord on the biased-angle) and was a great addition to the company’s hybrid tyre range.

It carries the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMS) symbol- and all sizes 12.50 (315) and narrower are Severe Snow Service rated.

With a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty, the Baja Boss A/T also has:

  • Increased-load LT-Metric sizing for heavy duty applications
  • Lower-load floatation sizing for half-ton, lighter trucks and SUVs
  • Several sizes approved for 12-inch and 14-inch wide wheels, including three 35X15.50 sizes
