Concept cars are a delight to see when they are presented to the mass. The unique design and touch to the vehicle's aesthetic looks has brought in many fans all over the world. The only time when designers truly get an opportunity to unleash their creativity is when they go crazy with concept cars. Every car designer adds on some element that are unique to the company and so does the tyre manufacturers who gets an opportunity to present their concept tyres in the right way which is by showcasing it along with the concept cars.

Here is little about Goodyear's concept tyres for the car named 'UX' produced by Lexus which was presented at the Paris Motor Show.

The tyre manufacturer in a statement said that Lexus had two requests when they had asked the company to develop tyres for its concept vehicle. The requests was to explore new frontiers of tyre design and use the state-of-the-art technology.

Goodyear decided that it will commit with the inside-out philosophy that has been adopted by Lexus for their concept car. Basically the internal elements match or go with the external elements and vice versa. Following this principle, the spokes of rim flows smoothly with the sidewall design of the tyre.

The tyres have been incorporated with features such as the Goodyear's Sound comfort Technology. The main function of this technology is to dampen the tyre cavity resonance sound that is generated while the tyre rolls over a surface. It basically uses an open-cell polyurethane foam element which is placed in the inner surface of the tyre. This technology keeps the cabin extremely quiet.

Goodyear has combined the Sound Comfort Technology with the chip-in-tyre technology that was showcased at Geneva in the year 2014. The chip sends information to the computer on board the car. The system focuses on the transmission of information regarding tyre pressure, Tyre identification details and temperature to the computer.

Goodyear has also equipped the concept tyres with its RunOnFlat Technology which has reinforced sidewalls that is capable of carrying the weight of the car for up to 80 km even with a puncture and loss of air pressure.

David Anckaert, General Director OE product development EMEA at Goodyear states that the company's designers succeeded in developing a tyre that follows the car's design philosophy. The tyres also provide the comfort, driving pleasure that Lexus presents their customers. The company has focused on building tyres by using the current available technology such as Sound Comfort Technology and the RunOnFlat technology.
