VK Misra, technical director, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, mentioned that, "In this competitive automotive business, we have to continuously innovate, upgrade and come up with newer technologies to remain viable and drive profitability."
"Technology has always been one of the key fortes of JK Tyre, and we have been holistically evaluating and investing in innovations over a sustained period of time," he said.

JK Tyre invests 1.5 percent to 2 percent of its annual revenue on research and development. The company has set up R&D centre named Raghupati Singhania Centre of Excellence (RPSCOE) in 2018 with an initial capital investment of Rs.200 crore. In addition to this, another Rs.100 crore has been added for its development.
RPSCOE is the hub for concentrated research on different aspects of tyre technology. It includes developing advanced laboratory predictors for analysing and optimizing tyre performance and providing key inputs for life prediction of rubber products, Misra mentions.
It also inculcated the first-of-its-kind semi-anechoic chamber for noise and vibration measurement. These chambers have a sound absorption level of 100%.
