JK Tyre And NATRAX To Develop Wet Grip Test Track

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) regarding the improvement and development of Test Track at NATRAX. Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.

According to experts, NATRAX is one of the best automotive centers for certification and testing under the NATRIP. NATRIP is one of the most important project of the Ministry of Heavy Industries of the Indian Government.

NATRAX has a total of 16 testing tracks which covers various aspects of a tyre. It tests the braking performance, maximum speed and its variations, off-road capabilities, ride quality and comfort, sustainability, road and cabin noise etc.

However, the main Wet Grip Test Track will have the functionality of testing safety aspects of tyres such as the performance of tyres in wet conditions as per the ECE R117 regulation, braking performance in wet conditions and Peak Brake Force Coefficient (PBFC).

Commenting on the occasion, V.K. JK Tyre has mentioned that it will be testing its upcoming range of revolutionary products at the Wet Grip Test Track located at NATRAX Pithampur.

About NATRAX:

The National Automotive Test Tracks will be a world-class automotive proving ground setup for comprehensive testing and evaluation of all type of vehicles. The facility will have all types of surface type to test vehicles against varying terrains and stringency. The core of the facility is the oval 4-lane high speed track of 13.6 Km designed for a neutral speed of 250 kmph on curves.

A large part of the test load on this facility is related to the evaluation of automotive performance such as max speed, acceleration, brake, efficiency, noise, vibration, handling, stability etc. NATRAX will be the Center Of Excellence for Vehicle Dynamics.
