Hankook Tire, a global leading tyre business, has been named as the principal sponsor of the 2021 BBC Top Gear Global Electric Vehicle Awards, which honour the greatest electric vehicles (EVs) in 12 categories, including EV of the Year, Best Hatchback, SUV, Estate, and Hypercar. Hankook already has a solid relationship with the electric vehicle sector, with several top vehicle manufacturers including Porsche currently using Hankook ev tyres as standard equipment on their electric and hybrid models, with more to follow soon.
From the start of the 2022/23 season, Hankook will be the future tyre supplier and technology partner for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, providing ground breaking tyres to the world's first and only all-electric street racing series. Hankook will supply tyres to all teams competing in the FIA Formula E Championship, developing specific compounds for the forthcoming ‘Gen3' cars.
These tyres will have a very low rolling resistance to boost the economy and will deliver a long-lasting performance thanks to the bio-sourced material and sustainable rubber the tyre will include and will be designed with Formula E's environmental mission in mind.

The Ventus S1 evo 3 ev, Hankook's premier electric vehicle tyre, was created with electric vehicles in mind. It has unique tread pattern, special compounds, and cutting-edge building procedures, all designed with battery-powered motoring in mind.
The tread pattern not only provides the same ultra-high performance as its traditional equivalent, but it also distributes soundwaves created by vibration for a more comfortable ride, as rolling noise in electric vehicles is typically regarded as louder. The tread pattern has also been tuned to reduce rolling resistance and conserve battery power, allowing the car to drive further on a single charge.
