Hankook Tire, a global leader in tyre manufacturing, has announced the expansion of its Kinergy AS ev electric car tyre to include new sizes of 18 and 19 inches. The tyre now comes in sizes ranging from 16 to 19 inches.
By adapting to shifting market trends, Hankook Tire expands its size choices to accommodate wider rim diameters, better serving the needs of consumers. Because the electric vehicle (EV) market is rapidly expanding, a wide range of EV models is being introduced. The new Kinergy AS ev sizes is exclusively available in Korea for the time being. It will eventually be available for purchase in additional areas.
Kinergy AS ev debuted on the market in September of 2018. It is outfitted with cutting-edge technology to complement the distinct characteristics of electric vehicles. It provides an EV-friendly, ultra-low-noise environment, a smooth ride, and superior driving performance on par with ultra-high-performance tyres.
Because EVs have no engine noise, road and tyre noise become more noticeable, emphasising the significance of noise reduction. Advanced noise reduction technologies are used to generate the hyper-low noise environment. The Kinergy AS ev achieves optimum silence by incorporating strategies that reduce tyre and road noise. Through ideal pitch arrangement, technology was used to reduce a certain frequency that occurs when driving.

Its block design pattern, which is based on electric circuits, enables the greatest driving performance in every situation. In addition, to improve wear resistance, a novel compound and silica reinforcement with higher dispersibility achieved by appropriate mixing technology were used. Meanwhile, the tread retains the ideal grip force to transmit an electric motor's strong immediate torque to the road without loss.
These characteristics helped Kinergy AS stand out in the EV industry. Hankook Tire recently announced that the tyre will be used in Challenge4's cross-country tour on all-electric Volkswagen ID.4s, dubbed "Volkswagen ID.4: Great Roadshow through the United States." From July to October, the tour will go across all 48 contiguous states of the United States. Kinergy AS EV's selection as a partner in Volkswagen's key project for the next-generation EV market proves the product's technological prowess and competitive advantage.

In addition to the Kinergy AS ev, Hankook Tire also offers other EV-specific tyres that are designed to be ideal partners for electric vehicles. The latest Ventus S1 evo3 ev, which was released last year, is fitted with Porsche's first all-electric sports vehicle, the Taycan. Hankook Tire increased its EV tyre supply original equipment business this year and has presented its tyres to the Audi e-Tron GT, the company's first all-electric sports vehicle, as well as the ID.4, Volkswagen's first e-SUV.
