In the EcoVadis assessment of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) 2021, global leading tyre business Hankook Tire & Technology received the superior rating, platinum medal. Only organisations whose performance is in the top 1% of their industry sector are awarded the platinum medal.
EcoVadis is a well-known multinational organisation that provides dependable CSR ratings. The institute evaluates around 6,500 enterprises from 160 countries based on environmental, labour, and human rights, ethical, and sustainable procurement criteria. Platinum, gold, silver, and bronze are the various ratings.
Hankook Tire has been praised by EcoVadis for addressing specific and quantitative goals in terms of CSR commitment and actively participating in various corporate sustainability projects. Furthermore, the business's transparency of elaborate policies in each CSR category, such as human rights management, environment, public safety, and health, has earned it recognition as the top 1% company out of 457 rubber product manufacturers worldwide.

It’s not the first time Hankook Tire is recognized by EcoVadis. Hankook Tire received a gold award in 2019, indicating that its sustainability management performance was in the top 5% of all organisations in the category. Hankook was instantly granted the platinum medal the following year, when the Platinum medal was added to the ranking system as the highest certification to commemorate the unique top 1% enterprises. It distinguishes Hankook Tire as a firm with global top-tier sustainable management competence, which has been recognised with the highest ratings for three years in a row.

This year's success is even more significant because Hankook Tire received 81 points in the evaluation. This is an increase of 8 points over the previous year, indicating that the company has not only maintained but substantially enhanced its performance over the previous year. When the assessment categories were broken down further, the company received 70 points in the environment criterion and 90 points in the sustainable procurement criterion, which are 10 and 20 points more than the previous year.
