Hankook FFF Racing Team Had A Great Run In The Two Day Test

This weekend at the Nurburgring, the Hankook FFF Racing Team had a great dress rehearsal. The team used the two-day test, which included the Qualification Race, to complete intensive practice laps, tyre checks, and set-up work on the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO ahead of the ADAC TOTAL 24h Race in early June.

After 41 laps of racing, Marco Mapelli, Franck Perera, Mirko Bortolotti, and Giacomo Altoe finished 19th in the six-hour Qualification Race on Sunday. Hankook is assisting the team at the Eifel Classic with its top-of-the-line Ventus Race goods and engineering skills.

In just four weeks, the Hankook FFF Racing Team will compete in the 24-hour classic at the Nurburgring with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO. The final test "in the Green Hell" this weekend gave all of the teams one more chance to do comprehensive set-up work.

The Hankook FFF Racing Team and its four drivers - Mapelli, Perera, Bortolotti, and Altoe - worked tirelessly during the two qualifying laps, Top-30 qualifying, and the six-hour race on Sunday to find the best set-up, boost performance, and practise procedures during pit stops and driver changeovers.

Marco Mapelli began the chase for the Hankook FFF Racing Team in the #63 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO on Sunday. The field of 81 cars competed in sweltering temperatures in the Eifel Mountains, resulting in a race full of battles and thrilling action. Over the duration of the six hours, the quartet of drivers set reliably fast lap times and, amid some heavy traffic at times, avoided any risky circumstances.

The Hankook race tyres, as anticipated, performed admirably around the 25.378-kilometer 24h version of the Nurburgring, impressing with a high degree of durability and reliability. For the final stint of the rally, Mapelli was behind the wheel once again, and crossed the finish line in 19th place.

Manfred Sandbichler, Hankook Motorsport Director Europe: "We are happy with the final test ahead of the 24-hour classic at the Nurburgring. Such a long race involves a lot of procedures and car set-ups, all of which must be practiced. We were able to do that extensively over the course of the two days. The four drivers also used the comprehensive test program to gain valuable experience in the cockpit. Our tires give the driving quartet the necessary assurance and trust. That is a good basis for a successful race at the start of June. We are ready!"

The 49th ADAC TOTAL 24-Hour Race at the Nurburgring takes place from June 3 to 6.
