Goodyear To Install Second Dynamic Driving Simulator- DiM250

Goodyear has confirmed that it is planning to install a second DiM250 Dynamic Driving Simulator presented by VI-Grade. The Goodyear Dynamic Driving Simulator will be installed at their Research and Innovation Centre in Luxembourg.

Goodyear stated that they are planning to utilize the equipment in conjunction with their other DiM250 which was recently installed at the tyre maker's headquarters in Ohio, USA. The tyre simulators have been installed to assist the tyre maker with "Virtual Tyre Development".

Guido Bairati, VP global sales and marketing at VI-Grade, commented, “With DiM250 and Compact simulators on both sides of the ocean, Goodyear is now at the forefront of virtual tyre development and gains a significative competitive advantage when it comes to collaboration with automotive OEMs and accelerated product development.”

Goodyear stated that the new equipment will help its engineers to develop, test and evaluate concepts right from the early stages of design process. This is said to help them in critically understanding the parameters before the keen process of building the tyres during the limited time period. Goodyear believes that the new piece to their collection will allow to understand and produce tyres that are suitable for the changing demands of OEMs.

Chris Helsel, senior vice president and chief technology officer, Goodyear, added, “This level of simulation capability is a clear technology leadership advantage. We are always looking to improve the development process and maintain our status as the preferred supplier for our customers.”
