Goodyear known as one of the largest tyre manufacturing company has announced the appointment of Mr. Sandeep Mahajan as the Managing Director (MD) in charge of the operations in India from June 1, 2020. He will remain in the post for a period of 5 years or until retirement or superannuation.
Mr. Sandeep Mahajan has succeeded Mr. Rajeev Anand who has been in service for more than 38 years. He will continue as the Chairman of the board which will conduct the operation in India with effect from June 1, 2020 till December 31, 2020.
Numerous senior leadership roles was held by Mr. Rajeev Anand for the Goodyear company in India and ASEAN up to 38 years. He recently served as the 'Chairman and Managing director' and he remained in this major role of the company for 11 years. He was earlier the 'Manufacturing Director- ASEAN and India', 'Director for Manufacturing and Strategic Initiatives' in India and the company's' Chief Operations Officer'. The Goodyear company grew significantly under his leadership in India.
Welcoming the new MD, Rajeev Anand, Chairman of Goodyear India said, "As I superannuate from the company, I am happy to hand over this role to Sandeep. I congratulate Sandeep on his new role. He has made significant contribution to the company in the past eight years and I am confident that under his leadership Goodyear will further strengthen its position in the India market. His deep knowledge in Retail and diverse experience across domestic and international markets will help Goodyear grow its business in the India region."

Mr. Sandeep Mahajan has successfully led Commercial, OTR and Consumer businesses within Goodyear for the last 8 years. He has been instrumental in controlling the market leadership of the Farm Business in India. With over 29 years of experience working with well known multinational companies, Mr. Sandeep Mahajan has deep knowledge of the market structure. He started his career with Tata Steel Ltd. He has acquired extensive sales and marketing experience working with Hindustan Unilever Ltd and LG electronics. Mr. Mahajan has P&L as well as sales and marketing experience working in India and with in the global markets.
Mr.Mahajan holds a Bachelor’s in engineering (Mechanical). He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
