The specialist tyre needs for today's electric and hybrid vehicles are low rolling resistance, optimal traction on all terrain, and the ability to carry big loads. Falken Tyre Europe is assisting car manufacturers in meeting these expectations, with the most recent example being the installation of Falken ZIEX ZE310A ECORUN AO tyre (205/55R16 94V XL) in Ingolstadt the home of the successful Audi A3 TFSI e hybrid.
Falken summer tyre Europe has not only won over performance-oriented drivers but has also persuaded independent test organisations such as the Austrian Automobile and Touring Club and the Touring Club Switzerland of its capabilities since its inception in 2019. The FALKEN ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN received a "Recommended" rating from these reputable organisations, while ACE Lenkrad and ARB critics reached the same conclusion. In the main AUTOBILD ALLRAD summer tyre test, the FALKEN ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN received a “Good” grade, with the editors praising its performance potential, wet handling, and short braking distances.
Falken's substantial development and application of cutting-edge tyre technology resulted in positive test results. The ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN, for example, is equipped with “Adaptive Constant Pressure” (ACP) technology, which ensures a uniform pressure distribution over the contact patch. To maximise efficiency, the ACP tread also increases directional stability, provides a uniform wear rate, and decreases rolling resistance.

The tyre's revolutionary four-groove tread pattern is responsible for its enhanced grip and optimal water displacement, as well as the related exceptional aquaplaning qualities. Engineers at ZIEX used their proven 4D NANO DESIGN approach to unlock the performance of novel materials at the nanoscale and design a ground-breaking rubber compound for the ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN. To ensure that its tyres are both economical and energy-efficient, the outcome is increased mileage, higher efficiency, and a more comfortable ride.

The quality of the Falken tyre persuaded AUDI to choose this tyre. The AUDI A3 whose tyres bear the A designation indicates that they are an OE product from Falken. It follows previous deals to supply the premium marque with the Q3 and A1 citycarver. The ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN tyre is approved for speed classifications of H/V/W (210 – 270 km/h) and is available in 124 sizes from 14 to 19 inches in the 35 – 70 series for the retrofit market.
