Not only did the Falken AZENIS FK510 SUV secure third place on the winner's podium in Promobil magazine's summer tyre test, but it was also named "price-performance winner" after scoring the same number of points as another premium provider. Summer tyres in the 235/55R17 size were put to the test on a Volkswagen T 6.1, also known as the "VW Bulli" in Germany.
Because of the specialised needs for tyres on a camper van, the testers placed more importance on load-bearing capacity while selecting tyres. This must be as high as possible without compromising driving comfort or safety. A total of eight tyres from various manufacturers were evaluated.
For both wet- and dry-handling according to time, as well as "riding comfort" and "interior noise," the Falken tyre received the maximum number of points, ten out of ten. The performance of a summer tyre in wet weather is its "supreme discipline," which is why the testers assigned this category a 40 percent weighting. With a braking distance of 32.6 metres on wet asphalt at 80 km/h, the Falken tyre finished just 0.5 metres behind the champion in this category, earning a “good” rating.

In the field of wet handling, the testers granted the tyre a “very good” rating: to accomplish this, the tyre had to attain a maximum average speed on a handling course little under two kilometres long. The Falken AZENIS FK510 SUV won the group with an average speed of 71.6 km/h, exactly one kilometre per hour faster than the runner-up. However, the results in the other test areas were similarly commendable, with the testers arriving at an overall score of 8.6 and a rating grade of "recommendable."

The authors of NEUE REIFENZEITUNG magazine came to the same conclusion after an independent analysis of different tyre tests concerning price-performance ratio: the Falken tyres that were put under the microscope achieved a performance of well over eighty percent, but at only seventy percent of the average price – in comparison to the reference tyre, which scored 100 percent in both categorizations.
