Fabio Quartararo Says He "Lost Everything" In Teruel MotoGP

MotoGP Petronas SRT rider Fabio Quartararo stated that he has "no idea" as to why he "lost everything" in regard of him managing the tyres on his Petronas SRT Yamaha Motorcycle during the Teruel Grand Prix.

Quartararo had barely managed to finish the race in eighth position in the second Argaon race which has resulted him losing further to Joan Mir who is far ahead in terms of points- standing in third place with 14 points lead from Quartararo.

The MotoGP Petronas SRT rider had to struggle in both Aragon race weekends to manage the tyres and be able to sort out the issues however, he believes that his his team had made a breakthrough in the warm-up session on Sunday morning.

He mentioned right from the opening lap that he was unable to get traction and that he was losing grip "aggressively". However, he does not blame the medium tyres since his team mate was able to dominate the Grand prix on medium tyres.

"In the race I lost everything, the feeling from the front," he said.

"So, yes, not really easy and I think happy to leave Aragon because it was two weeks where we struggled everyday and I think we need to focus now really on Valencia.

I'm sure Valencia is a better track for us, less consumption on the tyres and I think we will be fast and consistent, not like here.

"The tyres were OK. Franco won and made an amazing races with the medium/medium on the Yamaha.

"So, the tyre choice was good. When I was behind, I wanted to do like I was doing in FP4, but as soon as I was opening [the throttle] I was losing grip so aggressively and this is why I was not really happy because in the morning I was so happy about the work we did, but as soon as I arrived to the race from the first lap [I had] no feeling, no grip, no traction.

"It's so strange, I have no idea why but this strange." said the MotoGP Petronas SRT rider after the Teruel Grand Prix

Quartararo stated that the improvement he was able to make when compared to his rivals in the Aragon races was "small" and he felt that he has been struggling more whenever two races are held at one circuit.

"It's so difficult to say, because Franco was really consistent, Franco was really consistent and he made an improvement," he added. "We made an improvement from the first week to the second, but it was little.

"We had no consistency, also Maverick [Vinales] the first week he was so fast, he was the man to beat but finally he finished fourth.

"And now he finished half a second in front of me. At the end it's difficult to understand. When there are double races, apart from Franco - he improved a lot - but for us when there are double races, we are lost."
