Bias vs. radial
The tyres that are only suitable for off-roads are constructed with bias-ply which are made from overlapping the layers of rubber. These tyres are known for wearing more quickly compared to other tyres. Some hybrid tyres are constructed radial which lasts longer and provides smooth ride quality but the downside is that they wont provide the amount of traction on slippery surfaces.
