Formula one driver, Esteban Ocon mentioned that he was not able to use the tyre compound which he preferred at the restart in the Italian Grand Prix because the team did not warm up the tyres.
Ocon was not happy with the decision to restart the race on soft tyre compound-set which is known for quickly degrading. However, the Renault driver managed to finish the race in eight place which is not bad at all according to few F1 experts.
Esteban Ocon criticised the strategy that was opted by the team on the radio. He was calmly silenced by his team principal Cyril Abiteboul.
Later, he mentioned to the media that "It is just that luck was not on our side today" and mentioned that he regretted the decision to consider a pitstop when the safety car had come out.
Ocon said, "I think in terms of execution and taking a decision, we’ve been doing the right thing. Obviously if we stayed out and if we didn’t take the Safety Car into consideration, things could have happened. But all in all, if the red flag doesn’t come, we lose time. So reviewing it, I think overall, it was a good race.

He added, "It’s a shame...obviously we pitted in those circumstances and those things happened but our luck will turn around."
Ocon and team was planning to establish a great start while the restart was initiated. However, he was expecting medium tyres to go on but unfortunately the medium tyres were not warmed up for the race.
Ocon stated, "Of course we had in mind to get a good start with those soft tyres. Unfortunately, my medium set was not ready to go.
"We couldn’t choose it, otherwise we would have done. So it was very good pace the first two laps but on the third lap, it did degrade quite significantly. I was not obviously so happy about the balance and how things evolved after that.
"So I think if we had to do it again, we would have chosen the medium but obviously they were not ready and in condition."
When asked about his thoughts on the decision for opting soft tyres, he mentioned that- “They dropped temperature, “There’s been a bit of a delay to warm them up, so that’s something we can review."
