Dunlop Tires, a North American subsidiary of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Company, recently released its first new flat track tyre after 40 years (the DT4), and also announced the extension of its official tyre agreement with American Flat Track (AFT). Two moves clearly indicating the company's intentions to step up its support for the increasingly popular AFT series.
In addition to supporting the pro riders in AFT, Dunlop has also launched an amateur program designed to help youngsters get into the sport. The increasing exposure will also help the sport grow and expand its fan base. The amateur program will be named as the Team Dunlop Flat Track Programme after the highly successful Team Dunlop Motocross Program that is currently in its 14th year. The Flat Track Programme will involve amateur racers competing in its flagship series known as 'The Road to AFT,' as well as other series that will be tailor made to nurture amateur flat track racers.
Dunlop boasts of a rich history of more than forty years in the sport and has stuck by AMA road racing through thick and thin. The tyre manufacturer has till now accumulated about 234 pro championships under its belt and has worked tirelessly for the last 44 years to make a name in Motocross and Supercross. Interestingly, the company has won every pro Motocross and Supercross title in the United States for the last ten years. Their motocross riders still continue to wreak havoc in amateur racing and make successful transitions to the AMA pro ranks every year.

Everything we learned in the development of our dominant Geomax motocross tyres to the new DT4 to the slicks used in the MotoAmerica series have years of racing technology baked into them.
