The FIM Endurance World Championship-EWC paddock returns to the world-famous French endurance event this weekend for the first time in two years with nearly two-thirds of the grid opting for Dunlop tyres. All eyes are on the front of the field as the championship race heats up, with three Dunlop teams in the top five of the championship standings.
Dunlop tyres have been chosen by 27 of the 42 motorcycles on the entry list. Many of the full-season EWC teams competed at Le Mans, Estoril, and will finish the season at Most next month, but a few have joined the Bol d'Or as a one-off event. The 24-hour race will take place in Le Castellet, France, and will be the first EWC race to invite spectators since 2019.
Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar and BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, like always, are two teams to keep an eye on. The two factory teams have finished second and third in both races this year - the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Estoril - to take the lead (Kawasaki) and third (BMW) in the championship, respectively. The VRD Igol Experiences Yamaha is a little further back in fifth place, but it is still fighting for a strong championship position.

The Superstock class, which is always fiercely competitive, contains bikes that are much more closely akin to their roadgoing counterparts. Twenty Superstock bikes will compete on Dunlop tyres, with several of them competing in the Dunlop Independent Trophy, which rewards the top independent teams with prize money. National Motos (Honda) and Team 33 Louit April Moto (Kawasaki), both Dunlop teams, are now first and third in the rankings, respectively, and are among the main contenders for the win this weekend.
David Auerbacher, Dunlop EWC Event Leader, says: "The Bol d'Or is a world-famous event and it’s great for EWC that we can all return to it this year. Our partner teams in both classes are well-placed to fight for the victory and build on their championship results, especially BMW and Kawasaki in Formula EWC and National Motos and Team Louit in Superstock, but there are several other teams that can fight for the win this weekend.

"Some of the Le Castellet circuits has been resurfaced since the last Bol d’Or two years ago, so the Dunlop engineers have been collecting as much information as possible in testing and the early track sessions this week to learn what has changed. After two years away, it’s somewhat of a new challenge for everyone in the paddock. All the teams are fast, and BMW broke the lap record during pre-event testing with a 1:52.484. It’s going to be a fast race and we’re bringing our usual range of development and KR race slicks to support every team with the best tyres possible."
