Dean Harrison Isle Of Man TT Winner Switches To Dunlop

Dean Harrison, the Isle Of Man Senior TT winner 2019 has announced that he will be switching to Dunlop tyres for his road racing programme with Silicone Engineering Racing Kawasaki.

Dunlop has been well renowned for its tyres and is one of the most successful tyres in the history of the Isle of Man TT. Dunlop has been the choice of every winner. It has been the choice of winners 13 consecutive times in the senior TT race up until 2018.

Dunlop believes that Harrison's choice of Dunlop is symbolic as it is his confidence in the brand. Dunlop will provide him with the edge in building his road racing legacy.

Road racing is one of the few categories of top-level motorcycle racing where riders have a free choice of tyres. Dean Harrison joins outright TT lap record holder Peter Hickman as a confirmed Dunlop rider in the next running of the races, delayed until 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that both the fastest rider in TT history and the most recent Senior race winner will both compete on the latest Dunlop race tyres.

About Dean Harrison's racing career:

Harrison first raced at the Isle of Man TT in 2011 and within the span of just 3 years, he bagged a podium finish in the Lightweight class race of the world-famous road race for the first time.

In 2019, he joined the road racing hall of fame by winning the headline TT race, the Senior TT. He has also scored podium finishes in the Ulster Grand Prix, the North West 200 and two top ten finishes in the Macau Grand Prix.

Harrison and Silicone Engineering Racing Kawasaki will switch to Dunlop with immediate effect for road racing events as they begin the long build up to 2022’s major events. The new partnership involves Harrison becoming an Official Dunlop Brand Ambassador, giving fans the opportunity to see exclusive content by following @DunlopMoto on Facebook and Instagram.

Harrison explains his Dunlop switch: “I’ve ridden on Dunlop tyres in the past – I was on Dunlop when I did my first ever TT – and I’ve always thought they were brilliant tyres so I’m really pleased to be making the move back.

“I’ve always liked the brand and the people there are really nice too. After a few years on a different tyre, I think a change is good, especially to be moving to a manufacturer with such a strong sporting history behind it. I just can’t wait to get back out. It’s been way too long and I’m really excited about riding a motorbike again and ultimately, getting back onto the roads with the best tyres underneath me.”
