Indian tyre giant MRF Limited announced on Friday that it will contribute a sum of Rs.25 crores to support various initiatives to address the exigencies arising out of the COVID pandemic.
The company said that the support would be in the form of contribution to the PM Cares Fund at the Central level and support to various State Governments where the Company’s factories are located.
It has also undertaken direct district level projects to provide relief in various forms including providing medicines, personal protective equipment to medical and relief personnel along with the weaker sections of society.
Furthermore, the company said that it is also helping in the sanitisation of areas, distribution of essentials to migrant labour and local community to ensure better access to food and nutrition for the underprivileged sections of the society.
The Company’s management team will be working with District level authorities to roll the relief activities that are being supported directly, MRF said.

The COVID-19 pandemic, MRF said, is one of the toughest challenges that the world has faced. It underscored that at such a time, it is imperative for businesses to join hands with the governments to support the communities we live and serve in. It said it realised the importance of this and is accordingly rolling out these initiatives.
