Global Tyre manufacturer and technology firm, Continental, has announced that the company has plans to expand the production capacity of truck tyres at their Modipuram plant in Uttar Pradesh over the next 18 months.
According to Continental, this expansion will increase export volumes to the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, which will positively impact the company's production cost and profitability.
Continental India's Vice President Kuldeep Singh mentions; “Since we entered into the Indian market in 2011, we have grown substantially after the acquisition of Modi Rubber, introducing a variety of products for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. We introduced the radial range of tyres to the Indian market."
This expansion and increase of the production capacity of truck tyres at Continental's Modipuram Plant will be the fourth biggest expansion at the facility in the last six years, he added.
Continental India's Head of Tyre Business Claude d'Gama Rose said that the company's tyre business in the country is expanding, and it is committed to manufacturing world-class products for consumers.
"We have scaled up our production capabilities to serve domestic and export demand, coming from ASEAN, APAC, and select regions in South America," he noted.
