Balkrishna Industries Ltd.'s (BKT) plant in Bhuj, India has been awarded with Supplier Quality Excellence Process Gold certification by Caterpillar. The Caterpillar award an important acknowledgment reserved for suppliers who have stood out during the year for achieving the highest levels in terms of quality and control over processes," according to BKT officials.
BKT says that the Caterpillar award is "a great success for the Bhuj production site, already BKT's flagship."
The plant manufactures BKT's Earthmax line of OTR tyres. The tyres are designed "to facilitate better ground load distribution for dump trucks, wheel loaders, dozers, graders and some multi-purpose vehicles. In addition, the tires in the Earthmax range stand out for their all-steel structure, which guarantees resistance for the casing of these products and better distribution of ground loads."
"This certification really means a great deal to BKT," says Arvind Poddar, the company's chairman and managing director.
