Apollo Tyres Aim For Leadership In Two-Wheeler Tyre Segment

Leading tyre manufacturer Apollo Tyres is focusing and aiming for leadership in the premium two wheeler segment in India. They are also aiming for the global markets to provide their steel radial and high-end bias tyres.

Nearly 20 percent of the two-wheeler market includes in the premium sector and is the fastest growing sector. Due to rapid urbanisation, increasing young population and rising levels of consumer income, the segment is witnessing a growth and increasing demand in this category.

Indian is the largest two-wheeler market market in the world and still has space for increasing growth and demand. Even while considering it as a tough time due to the pandemic, there is increasing demand coming from the people so that they can own their own vehicle and not depend on public transport.

Neeraj kanwar, MD and Vice Chairman at Apollo Tyres Ltd. considering the leadership drive in the premium two-wheeler segment stated that the company is aiming for a strong foothold in the highly profitable and high value premium motorcycle tyre market that caters 20 percent in the motorcycle market in India and the entire Europe and America's market.

He added that the company has a global portfolio and high-end bias and steel radial tyres for the two-wheeler segment and are producing them at the highly advanced and futuristic facility in Vadodara Gujara

Apollo tyres stated that they have inaugurated a dedicated commercial facility to manufacture the two-wheeler radial and cross ply tyres. The plant was inaugurated virtually by the Onkar S Kanwar- Chairman of Apollo Tyres Ltd. Vice chairman and MD, Neeraj Kanwar and supervisory Board members of the company and select business partners also joined this occasion.

The two-wheeler tyre manufacturing plant is spread over an area of more than 10,000 square metre and the unit is included within Apollo Tyres' Limda Plant in Vadodara, in the state of Gujarat. The facility has an initial capacity to produce 30,000 motorcycle radials and 60,000 motorcycle cross ply tyres per month. This unit will cater to the premium segment of the two- wheeler industry. This facility also has the capacity to manufacture Radial tyres as the demand keeps on growing.

Apollo tyres entered the two-wheeler tyre business in the year 2016 and became India's first company to launch zero-degree steel radial tyres which is considered as a global gold standard for motorcycle tyres and now has a double-digit market share in this segment.
