Tyres make people happy in Kinar as they get a waiting shed

"The world has been accessible for some years now" and by this we mean that social media has allowed us to interact and connect with different people even from the different nooks of the world. Today we present one such creative act that was witnessed in social media for a while now in a town called Tripunithura, Kinar which is precisely in Ernakuklam District of Kerala.

Tyres have always been an object that served multiple purposes and it is visible through social media how tyres are used to construct different things rather than just made to used in moving vehicles from one place to another. here is one such story of a young bunch of men who created a marvel out of bottles and tyres.

It is a known fact that building a bus-waiting shelter will cost lakhs from the MP/MLA funds but a young group of men from a club named 'BSB arts and sports club' has used plastic bottles and sheet worth Rs.14000 to construct a waiting shed at Kinar in Tripunithura, Kerala. This epic construction became viral in social media and is famously known as the "bottle hub."

The features of this bus waiting shed includes tyres which are made into seats, flowery plants, awareness boards about COVID-19 pandemic and latest news which is displayed on a news board.

The police stations had lots of used bottles and also the COVID-19 relief camps. The club members were hoping that they could fulfill the dream of Kinar residents by using the used water bottles.

The people on social media platforms requested the officials to use such kind of initiatives and methods to construct such waiting sheds using recyclable materials instead of wasting lakhs of rupees.

According to Shyam Surendran, BSB club president, Kinar is considered to be a major bus stop along the Tripunithura-Vaikom Route and it never had a waiting shed. The club was formed four years ago and they wanted to make a shed for a long time. It is now a dream come true for the residents in Kinar.

The idea to build the waiting shed with bottles came when the club members were serving the people at the time of lockdown. They were also helping the police which is when they discovered that lots of bottles were piling up.

They have used old tyres from tyre shops to create seats for the people to sit down. Many other materials like tiles, slates, paints etc were also used. There were around 700 used water bottles used in the construction. Surendran added that it took them 3 weeks to complete the work since everybody had day jobs.
