Pirelli Launches Two New P Zero Race Tubeless Tyres

Italian tyre manufacturers known popularly as the one and only Pirelli has launched two tubeless variants of its all- round performing race tyre- The P Zero Velo. The new tyres are developed with the best engineers who are capable of understanding the needs of road cycle tyres which are used for race. According to Pirelli, this new set of tyres are capable of outperforming every other cycle tyres including tubulars that have been produced by Pirelli's Italian specialist.

In the past, Pirelli had only to offer Cinturato Velo which was an endurance oriented tubeless road tyre. However, it took about three years to develop the tyre by working with world touring riders from Mitchelton and Segafredo which has resulted in the ultimate development of tubeless performance tyre which Pirelli is proud to present.

There were rumours earlier that Pirelli has been working with World Tour teams in developing a tubeless performance tyres. Pirelli's performance tyres were also seen fitted to training-cycles of Mitchelton-Scott's and Annemiek van Vleuten's in the month of march.

About the tyres:

The two latest tyres from Pirelli are P Zero Race TLR SL and P Zero Race TLR variants which features Techwall and Techwall + casing technology.

The P Zero Race TLR with Techwall provides the performance that the rider requires and is highly puncture resistant to weight ratio. The SL Version with Techwall has left out some features to save weight and increase rolling resistance.

The tubeless P Zero Tyres comes with updated rubber compound- Smart Evo Compound which Pirelli says will improve the grip in both wet and dry weather conditions without compromising on low rolling resistance. The tread pattern is different in both the variants. The P Zero Race TLR continues to have the compressed- Z design tread pattern and the SL variant uses a much smoother surface with two sipes that run around the centre section of the tyre.

Pirelli offers different sizes which range from 24c to 30c ( standard variants) and 24c to 28c (SL variants). For compatibility, Pirelli has developed the tyres keeping in mind that the tyres should fit every rim and hence ETRTO standards is maintained. Pirelli provides the tyres with appropriate width and clearance that the riders require. The width (WAN) and outer diameter (RAM) of tyres has been considered so that they can be fitted to 17c , 19c and 21c ETRTO rims.

The P Zero Race TLR SL 700x24C is the lightest tyres offered by Pirelli since it comes in 230g while the more heavier one is the P Zero Race TLR 700x30C which comes at 320g.
