Kevin Magnussen took an early decision to change to slick tyres and says that the it was "amazing" after a strong battle in the Hungarian Grand Prix that took place.
Hass made the call for a pit-stop at the end of the formation lap while the track was drying after a rain shower that took place pre-race and majorty of the teams were planning for a pit-stop after few laps.
The call took place when Magnussen and his teammate Romain Grosjean were in third and fourth place respectively which shook the spectators after they had initial pit-stops. The proud Danish driver was able to hold on ninth place and first two points of the season.
Kevin Magnussen mentioned that he is so happy and the team has made an amazing call right before the beginning of the race that is on the formation lap when the call for the change of tyres into slicks came in.

He added that it was a strong move for them to give him the trust and put him on dry tyres considering that the conditions to drive on was not easy. It was a risky move but it worked out great as the pace was there and he reached in the P3 position after a few laps.
He said that he knew that it would not be their final placing, but it was amazing to be in the P3 position in the race. He added that he tried to hang in there as much as possible.
He stated further that "I kept working with the team regarding where realistically we were going to be. In the end, it was P9 – I held on to it and we had opened the gap to a Ferrari and then kept the McLaren away as well."
