Following its return to the skies last year, the Goodyear Blimp will visit a slew of new cities and events in 2021, including Milan, Italy's historic capital. The blimp will soar over the iconic city as well as the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) round of the 6 Hours of Monza, offering motorsport fans with aerial coverage of the race.
On the 15th of July, the renowned Blimp will arrive in Milan and remain for two days. The Goodyear brand ambassador will soar above the WEC 6 Hours of Monza on July 18th, giving endurance racing fans a chance to see the icon in the sky. The action from the Goodyear Blimp will be carried live on the Eurosport 2 channel, as well as on the Eurosport Player platform, for anyone following the race from home (www.eurosportplayer.com). Passengers will have the once-in-a-lifetime chance to board the Blimp and fly over Milan's famous monuments. In 2019, Goodyear returned to the WEC and was named the exclusive tyre partner of the LMP2 prototype category following two class victories.
The Blimp will fly over a variety of locations on its way to Milan, including Memmingen, Munich, and Wels (12 July); St. Polten, Hartberg, Celje, Ljubljana, and Gorizia (13 July); Venice, Padua, Verona, and Milan (14 July).The Blimp is a Goodyear-branded Zeppelin NT semi-rigid airship that operates across Europe. This model is the world's largest of its sort right now. Since the 1910s, the tyre manufacturer's brand ambassador has been seen in the sky, providing once-in-a-lifetime experiences as well as coverage of key events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
