The Falken Motorsports team finished third in the 44th RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen, the sixth race of the Nürburgring Endurance Series-NLS. After a fantastic effort, Tobias Müller, Dennis Olsen, and Alessio Picariello led the best-placed Porsche 911 GT3 R onto the podium.
With one laughing and one crying eye, Falken motorsports finishes the fifth round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. The team finished fourth in the 61st ADAC Reinoldus endurance event but also had to deal with retirement. Martin Ragginger collided with the track barrier about 25 minutes before the finish but was unharmed.
For Sunday's "Double Header" race, only one Falken Porsche was on the lineup. The #4 was extensively damaged in an accident on Saturday, and repairs could not be completed overnight. Alessio Picariello supported his two teammates on the #3 sister car while Martin Ragginger transferred to the friendly Frikadelli Racing team's Porsche 911 GT3 R, where he was the second driver alongside Klaus Abbelen.

In the morning qualifying session, the Belgian finished tenth on the grid with Tobias Müller and Dennis Olsen. Müller, who was racing for the first time for Falken this weekend, finished the race and clawed his way to the front. The team chose an early pit break to avoid being stuck in traffic, and Müller handed over the cockpit to Dennis Olsen.
Before Alessio Picariello took over the wheel, the Norwegian put forth a solid performance. The Belgian, who had been on track for a podium finish the day before, made the most of his Falken tyres and steadily worked his way to the front. Tobias Müller returned to the vehicle for the last segment. The Falken trio were able to celebrate a well-deserved third place after four hours.
Falken with strong performance at the fifth round of NLS
The Falken Motorsports team, drivers, and tyres all put in good performances in the NLS qualifying. The #3 Porsche, driven by Dennis Olsen and Tobias Müller, finished fourth on the grid, while the #4 sister vehicle, driven by Martin Ragginger and Alessio Picariello, finished sixth. Even after the race began, the two Falken Porsches remained within striking distance of the podium.

The sun shined brightly over the Eifel for the 4h race, thus the Falken rain tyres, which the team had impressed with at the famed 24h classic four weeks prior, were not used. The slicks, on the other hand, demonstrated their potential: the two Porsche 911 GT3 R held their own in the leading group and were even vying for the win.
Martin Ragginger was in third place about 25 minutes before the race ended. The Austrian then collided with a slower vehicle and slammed through the barrier. The Porsche was heavily damaged, and the team was forced to abandon its chances of a safe podium finish only minutes before the race ended. Martin Ragginger was unharmed in the incident. The car's damage will be assessed in the evening to see if it can be fixed overnight.

Tobias Müller and Dennis Olsen's sister car finished fourth, almost missing the podium, and is giving the team a boost for the impending night shift.
The next opportunity will arrive soon: the sixth race of the season will take place on Sunday, just one day after the fifth round of the year. The 44th RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen is the second race in the Nürburgring Endurance Series' "double header."
The next round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup Race, will take place on September 11, 2021.
