Bridgestone announced today that it would exhibit at MINExpo 2021, displaying its mining products, technology, and solutions that are geared to help customers get more out of their mining operations. MasterCore, Bridgestone's most sophisticated surface mining tyre line, takes centre stage, giving up to 5% more durability, 10% faster truck operating speeds, and 15% more payload capacity. Bridgestone's Global Solutions Partners, a team of mining professionals dedicated to creating Bridgestone clients' specialised and comprehensive mining solutions, complement MasterCore with the iTrack II real-time tyre management solution for live tyre performance data and insights.

Bridgestone MasterCore:
The new Bridgestone MasterCore surface mining tyres may be tuned for a range of performance characteristics, including enhanced payload, increased durability, and increased uptime. Fleets benefit from increased usage of their haulage assets, which are available in a variety of sizes and patterns to give customised solutions based on surface and traction conditions. This helps enhance mine performance and lower cost-per-ton.
When compared to conventional tyres, Bridgestone MasterCore tyres use advanced materials and a proprietary manufacturing process to deliver superior durability with proven resistance to rust and belt damage from cuts and moisture exposure.
MasterCore tyres feature an industry-first Metal Surface Coating technology, which involves applying a bonding agent to the steel cord of the tyre for improved adhesion and ultra-high durability. MasterCore tyres also have a proprietary technology for applying an anti-rust steel coating designed and manufactured by Bridgestone for additional moisture resistance, as well as a new rubber compound that decreases fracture propagation by 20% for longer belt and casing life.

MasterCore tyres are the pinnacle of off-road tyre engineering and the core of Bridgestone's mining solutions portfolio, which serves customers all over the world. Bridgestone began producing MasterCore tyres in the United States in September 2020 at its 1.5 million-square-foot OTR tyre factory in Aiken, South Carolina, and has subsequently increased production to include 57” and 63” MasterCore sizes. The company's Aiken OTR tyre plant is LEED-certified, with a focus on responsible and environmental manufacturing. A pond liner is also used at the Aiken OTR tyre facility to build a rainwater collecting system that gathers and uses roof runoff water.
